A 1930s Calle Ocho club reborn: salsa, bachata and Latin jazz nightly on the pineapple-shaped stage with no cover, and early jazz sets from 6 p.m. Thursday to Saturday.
Tip: Go early in the evening for the jazz and conversation; it's a dance party by 10.
Cafe La Trova
971 SW 8th St (Calle Ocho)
Cantinero Julio Cabrera's Cuban cocktail bar with food by chef Michelle Bernstein, a Michelin Guide pick. Trova musicians play every day, and sometimes the bartenders put down their shakers and join in.
Lagniappe
3425 NE 2nd Ave, Edgewater
A New Orleans-style wine bar in an old house with a string-lit backyard: 200-plus natural wines, pick-your-own cheese boards and live jazz or blues every night from 9 p.m., usually with no cover.
The Regent Cocktail Club

A basement lounge styled like an old New York jazz club with a Havana twist, reached through Dolce Italian. Live jazz on a proper stage; open Thursday to Saturday, 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.

A 150-seat gilded cabaret theatre running glossy productions (OBSESSION plays Thursday to Saturday) and a jazz series.

Miami's big performing arts centre. The 2026-27 Broadway season opens with Buena Vista Social Club (Sept 29 to Oct 4), then A Beautiful Noise, The Great Gatsby and Jersey Boys.
New World Symphony WALLCAST concerts
SoundScape Park, 17th St
Free outdoor concerts: the orchestra plays inside the New World Center and it's broadcast live onto a 7,000 sq ft wall in the park. Bring a blanket and a picnic.
Tip: Seven dates in 2026-27, starting October 10 (Beethoven's Ninth) and ending May 1.

- Dinner at 8 is normal in Miami; music gets going around 9 or 10.
- Rooftops like Sugar switch to DJs and a stricter dress code after dark; go for the sunset.
- Casino fans: the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood is about 30 minutes north.
- Please drink responsibly and use rideshares; the causeways are no place for a tipsy drive.
