The Olde Pink House & Planters Tavern
23 Abercorn St, Reynolds Square
Southern dining in an 18th-century mansion. Downstairs, the Planters Tavern cellar bar has fireplaces, the same menu and a pianist from 7:30 p.m.

Chef Mashama Bailey's restaurant in a restored 1930s Greyhound bus terminal, cooking Southern food with real depth. Bailey was named North America's Best Female Chef for 2026 by The World's 50 Best.
Alley Cat Lounge
207 W Broughton Lane (the alley behind Broughton St)
A basement bar down an unmarked door in a lane off Broughton Street, with one of the city's deepest spirits libraries and a menu printed as a newspaper. Closed Sundays.
Bonaventure Cemetery
330 Bonaventure Rd, Thunderbolt
A hauntingly beautiful riverside cemetery under live oaks and Spanish moss. Free to enter, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily; the historical society leads free tours at 2 p.m. on the second Saturday and Sunday of each month.
Wormsloe State Historic Site
7601 Skidaway Rd, Isle of Hope
The famous mile-and-a-half avenue of moss-draped live oaks, leading to the ruins of a colonial estate. Open 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. daily; about $12 for adults.
Telfair Museums (Telfair Academy, Jepson Center, Owens-Thomas House)
Telfair Square and Oglethorpe Square
Three sites on one ticket, valid for a week: a classic art museum, a contemporary gallery and the Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters, toured every 15 minutes.
Worth knowing
- The Historic District is flat and walkable; Bonaventure and Wormsloe are 15 to 20 minutes by car.
- Savannah allows open containers in part of the Historic District, which is why River Street gets lively. Our picks are away from it.
- Many good bars close on Sundays (Alley Cat, Artillery), so plan your big night for Friday or Saturday.

Very. It's slow, beautiful and walkable, with excellent restaurants, elegant cocktail bars, museums and historic houses. Avoid River Street late on weekend nights if you don't want the party crowd.

Two or three. Two days covers the squares, a museum, Bonaventure and two great dinners; a third adds Wormsloe, Tybee Island or a slower pace.
