New Year's Eve in Las Vegas for Grown-Ups

New Year's Eve is the busiest night of the Las Vegas year. At midnight resorts up and down the Strip launch a coordinated fireworks show from their rooftops, and downtown throws a 21+ street party under the Fremont Street canopy. For grown-ups the best plan is simple: book a great dinner, pick your view and be in place well before midnight.

The fireworks

The Las Vegas visitors authority (LVCVA) lists America's Party: Las Vegas New Year 2027 for December 31. At the last New Year's Eve, resorts along the Strip launched a coordinated eight-minute fireworks show from their rooftops at midnight. The 2026 launch sites are not yet published. Any spot with a clear view of the sky above the Strip will catch several launch points, and a high-floor room or rooftop bar is the grown-up way to watch.

Where to watch from above

Skyfall Lounge on the 64th floor looks straight up the Strip, and Legacy Club on the 60th floor of the adults-only Circa has the best view downtown. Top of the World turns 800 feet up at the STRAT. Their 2026 New Year's Eve plans and prices are not yet published, so check each one before you set your heart on it.

  • 21+

Downtown's rooftop lounge on the 60th floor of the adults-only Circa, with indoor and outdoor seating, a strong cocktail list and live music or DJs. The best sunset view downtown.

Tip: Tables need reservations; the bar is first come, first served.

Top of the World

The STRAT, 106th floor

  • $$$$
  • Calm
  • Reserve ahead

Steak and seafood 800-plus feet up in a dining room that turns a full circle about every 80 minutes. The whole valley goes by during dinner.

Fremont Street's 21+ party

Fremont Street Experience turns its canopy-covered street into a ticketed party for guests 21 and over, with gates at 7 p.m. and music on several stages. The 2026 line-up and ticket prices are not yet published. Tickets are non-refundable, and you'll need ID to collect your wristband.

Fremont Street Experience

Fremont Street, Downtown

  • $
  • Loud & late
  • Walk-in

The canopy-covered pedestrian street with light shows overhead and live bands on the stages. Loud and fun for a short walk; the calmer bars are a block or two away on Fremont East.

Dinner and a show

Book an early dinner, then a show, then head out for midnight. The Mayfair Supper Club combines dinner and a show facing the Bellagio fountains; Golden Steer is old Vegas at its most festive. Shows such as O play around the holidays; check each calendar for New Year's Eve times.

The Mayfair Supper Club

Bellagio, Center Strip

  • $$$$
  • Lively
  • Reserve ahead

A theatrical supper club facing the Bellagio fountains, with a 360-degree stage that rises and lowers during dinner. Performers move through the room as the courses arrive, so it is dinner and a show in one seat.

Tip: Book a table for the later seating on a Friday or Saturday if you want the room at full swing.

Dress: Dress up: jackets and cocktail dresses fit right in

Golden Steer Steakhouse

West Sahara, just off the Strip

  • $$$
  • Calm
  • Reserve ahead

Serving since 1958: red leather booths named for Sinatra and Monroe, tuxedoed servers, tableside Caesar salad and flaming desserts. Pure old Las Vegas.

"O" by Cirque du Soleil

Bellagio, Center Strip

  • $$$$
  • Calm
  • Tickets in advance

Cirque's water show: acrobats, divers and synchronized swimmers performing in, on and above a stage that turns into a pool. It runs about 90 minutes and is the classic first Vegas show for good reason.

Tip: Mid-section seats give the best view of the whole pool; the first rows can get splashed.

Our advice

  • Book your hotel early: rooms for December 31 sell out and prices climb sharply.
  • Plan to walk: roads around the Strip become gridlocked on New Year's Eve, so stay where you plan to celebrate.
  • Carry little: the crowds on the Strip are huge, and you may be on your feet for hours.
  • Check current hours, event dates and prices before you go.
